Here we have kumquats, one of the most exciting fruits we get in the winter. Tiny, bite sized jewels, these remarkable fruits boast a sweet rind with a sour pulp. Like an inside out orange, kumquats are a lot of fun to just sit and snack on, although the first time I tried one it was thoroughly disconcerting. Be adventurous!

Meet Emily. Emily is our Receiver; she's the one in charge of making sure every delivery is accounted for, as well as keeping our backstock areas organized and efficient. Here she is doing a little maintenance! Never let it be said that we don't wear a lot of hats at the coop! Emily would like you all to know that Blood Oranges are the MOST exciting thing we have to eat right now. They are perfect and in season right now. Come on in and try some! Winter is here, meaning driving winds, freezing rain, and of course, citrus!! What we have here are meyer lemons, something we get excited about this time of year. Thought to be a cross between lemons and tangerines, Meyer lemons are native to china. Since they are not as sour as true lemons, we have been known to catch Coop staff enjoying one as a dessert with lunch. I look forward to these every year, there is nothing the family enjoys more on a Sunday afternoon than to make a big batch of marmalade. Anyway, come in to taste some today; the season is short, you don't want to miss them!
